Check out this big blowout interview with several of the writers and artists on X-Men: Divided We Stand #1 at Comic Book Resources. Lots of interesting insights as usual, including Mike’s response to the question “Regarding the characters chosen for this book - why were they were selected?” The cool thing about DWS - which has been pointed out in some of the reviews - is that you get the sense there are as many potential stories as there are mutants: that these snapshots are skimming the surfa

Fri, 18 Apr 2008 23:36:36 PDT
We knew those live tabletop computer interfaces like Microsoft surface and the Linux-based MPX multi-touch table were going to change the way we looked at computers but to be honest even I never imagined that the technology would be adapted for gambling and casino purposes before it hit museums. A Viewer Speaks

Wed, 02 Apr 2008 08:05:29 PDT
WE GET A good group of commenters here in Sticksville. Lately, we've been hearing quite a bit from a young woman from the Prairies, who has an openminded attitude toward Canadian shows, and an engaged and passionate way of defending them. On the subject of all the changes going on at the CBC, I think she's expressed the necessary corrective point of view better than Richard Stursberg, Kirstine Leyfield, or anybody else at the public broadcaster has managed to do. So I'm bumping her comment here

Global Food Fights

Sat, 19 Apr 2008 07:00:13 PDT
It takes a decent respect for the obvious truth to admit that mankind has no control over the climate. What is occurring, however, is a trend toward global cooling. Alan Caruba thinks that between rising food costs driven by an environmental agenda and real, not imagined climate change, the word famine is going to be heard more often.

Safari users to be blocked from using PayPal

Sun, 20 Apr 2008 08:00:45 PDT
In the last year or two, I’ve started doing a lot of my monetary transactions via a little site called PayPal. I’m sure that if you’ve used eBay at all, you have yourself a PayPal account. Unfortunately for Mac users, if you use Safari as your primary browser, you’re going to have some issues accessing the site. If you didn’t know, Safari doesn’t include any anti-phishing technologies, unlike FireFox and IE. PayPal frowns very much upon this, and has decided that they will soon begin blockin

Spritz This, Procter & Gamble!

Fri, 21 Mar 2008 20:00:12 PDT
